INJURED ATHLETES STORIES:

listening to recovery processes of injured athletes is key to improve & NORMALIZED this lonely process. My intuition is, By studying an amputee adaptation to his new life, it can help us to understand the others, TEMPORARY disabled athletes.

RECOVERY PROCESS OF YESTERDAY:

The path to eternal injuries by creating BIO-MECHANIC UNBALANCES

RE_BOUNCE: TOMORROW’S RECOVERY PROCESS

The MASTER OF ADAPTATION, the Re_bounce ecosystem

A Design Process inspired:

…Microsoft Inclusive Design: Studying amputee usage of ATM machines helped Microsoft Design better ATM machine interfaces for the larger population of users.

What if we designed better recovery footwear…

… by studying orthopedic phantom pain relief techniques used by leg amputees on their remaining “sister” leg.

The “PUMP” network let a cooling gel flows around the prosthetic & the shoe. Because of the fascinating biology of the human body, amputees are able to lower their phantom pain by cooling down their “ghost” leg and by massaging their last valid foot.

For the Athlete, a pair of REEBOOK RE_BOUNCE PUMP is used after training to boost the recovery of damaged tissue from the toes up to the ankle. By offering a tailored recovery process, from heat to cold even in case of light injuries, the athlete recovers faster.
